CTG Case 6

Headpressure

Summary

35 year old G4 P3. Gest.week 40+3. Normal pregnancy. 1999 SVD Birthweight  3640 g,  2001 SVD Birthweight  3780 g. 2002 Birthweight  3510 g.

  • 22:15   Admitted to hospital contracting since 16:00 och SROM since 21:00. At arrival thick meconiumstained liquor.
  • 22:50  VE: Cx fully effaced, 7 cm dialted, vx -1. FSE applied.
  • 23:00 Recurrent late decelerations are noted. Physician contacted.
  • 23:30 Labour continues, quick progress. VE: Cx fully dilated, vx+2. Active pushing started.
  • 23:38 SVD.  AS 9/10/10.

Comment

Repetetive late decelerations generates an Abnormal CTG. In this case it is a rapid progress and therefor no action taken. The CTG  trace shows head pressure in the end of the trace. As a result a bradycardia just before delivery.
